At First you find him drifting in the sea on a broken raft. Soon he is cared for and taken into the Kings palace and tells his amazing story full of adventure, loss, and great victories.  Odysseus explains to the King and his people that all throughout his adventures he was trying to get home to his native land Ithaca, but stumbling upon various dilemmas before returning home 20 years later. Hearing his adventures he is taken home by the King. But, when he returns he is turned into an old man by Athena to hide his true identity and to seem weak so he could kill the men who have been trying tho marry his wife while he was away.
